Parking Commission

History

The Lafayette Parking Commission was created by Ordinance 99-45, on December 6, 1999. The City of Lafayette Municipal Code 2.16.010(A) created the Commission.

Purpose

The Duties of the Commission are stated in Municipal Code 2.16.010(B), and its authority is described in Municipal Code 2.16.010(C). In general, the Commission's duties are to establish all parking rules and special parking zones within the City of Lafayette. It has the authority to enforce all stopping, standing, and parking restrictions described in Municipal Code 7.06.

Members

Commission members are appointed to a 4 year term by the Mayor

    • Frank Donaldson-Current Term 1/1/2022 to 1/1/2026 
    • Ken McCammon-Current Term 1/1/2024 to 1/1/2028
    • Andrew Muffett-Current Term 1/1/2023 to 1/1/2027
    • Cindy Murray-Current Term  1/1/2024 to 1/1/2028
    • Scott Trzaskus-Current Term 1/1/2024 to 1/1/2028

Membership

The Parking Commission is composed of:

Three members are appointed by the Mayor as representatives of:

  • One from the Redevelopment Commission
  • One from the Board of Public Works and Safety
  • One nominated by a Downtown Business organization 

Two members are Lafayette Residents appointed by the Mayor, with the consent of the Common Council of the City of Lafayette
