It's time for the annual Pooch Plunge event at Castaway Bay! Join us on Thursday, August 7 and Friday, August 8 from 5-8PM for a paw-sitively fun-filled dog swim event. Hosted by Lafayette Parks & Recreation, this year's Pooch Plunge will feature giveaways and goodies for your furry friends!
General Information
Please SEND a copy or BRING a copy of your dog/s' rabies vaccination certifications (collar tag will NOT be sufficient). Note that current Dog Park members will have certification on file. (Email: dogpark@lafayette.in.gov)
Rules
- Dog owners MUST provide written (vet certificate or city registration receipt) proof of rabies vaccination for their dog(s). A rabies tag on the collar is NOT sufficient.
- All dogs must be on a leash until they are in the event area at the pool.
- Children under the age of 12 years old are not permitted to attend Pooch Plunge.
- Children ages 12-15 years old must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times while attending Pooch Plunge.
- There is a LIMIT of TWO dogs and TWO people per registration.
- Dogs must be at least four months old.
- Owners MUST pick up after their dogs.
- Female dogs in heat will NOT be allowed.
- Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave the pool.
- No human or dog food/treats will be allowed in the pool area.
- For health and safety reasons, people will NOT be allowed in the pool except to help a struggling dog. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED - (There is NO chlorine in the pool.)
- Please know your dog's swimming abilities and know when to take a break, should your dog appear to be getting overly tired.
