Lafayette Police Hosting Promotion and Swearing In Ceremony

On Monday August 12th, 2019 at 3pm, the Lafayette Police Department will be hosting a promotion and swearing in ceremony.  The event will take place at the City Council Chambers in the Lafayette City Hall, 20 N 6th St, Lafayette, IN. 

We will be recognizing 4 officers on their recent promotions. Scott Galloway is a 21 year veteran of the Lafayette Police Department, he was promoted to Captain on June 12th, 2019.  Brian Clawson a 17 year veteran of the department, and Randy Sherer a 13 year veteran of the department, were both promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on July 11th, 2019.  Justin Hartman has served with the department for 12 years, he was promoted to Sergeant April 10th, 2019. 

We are also pleased to announce 2 new police officers will be joining the ranks of the Lafayette Police Department. 

Officer Tyler Gregory, Badge #464

Tyler is 24 years old and is from Lafayette, Indiana.  Tyler is a 2015 graduate of Ball State University with a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies.  Tyler comes to the Lafayette Police Department from Ivy Tech Community College where he was a college connection coach. Tyler enjoys the Lafayette area and is eager to serve as a police officer for his community.

Officer Robert Hine, Badge #465

Robert is 22 years old and is originally from West Lebanon, Indiana.  Robert is a 2018 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.  Robert was previously employed through the Thorntown Police Department where he served as a police officer.  Robert enjoys the Lafayette area and the opportunities the area and agency have to offer.
