Lafayette Police Officers Awarded for OWI Enforcement

Officers from area law enforcement agencies were recognized for their efforts to reduce injury and fatal traffic crashes involving intoxicated drivers.  Officers from the Lafayette Police Department led the Tippecanoe County agencies, making 319 OWI arrests in 2018.  Officer Matthew Pate was the LPD OWI Top Cop, with 38 arrests.  He was joined by Officer Bernie Myers, with 36 arrests, Officer Carson Smith with 23 arrests, and Officer Daniel Dalder with 21 arrests.

This recognition is awarded by Drive Sober Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of impaired driving.
