UPDATE: Lafayette Police Investigating Dead Body Found on Amelia Ave

On Tuesday August 21st, at about 7 am, the Lafayette Police Department received a report of a dead body found outside in the 3900 block of Amelia Ave.  Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department along with the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s office, are investigating to determine the cause and manner of the death.  At this time the death is being investigated as a homicide, as is standard with all deaths until the cause is known.  The victim is a black male, the identification is pending by the coroner’s office.

Updated Information:

The deceased victim was identified as Keiandre Holt (16). 

Anyone with any information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Lafayette Police Department at 765-807-1200, or through the anonymous We-TIP hotline at 800-78-CRIME.  At this time there is no belief that any danger to the public exists.
