On July 29th, 2017 at 7:06 pm, the Lafayette Police Department responded to a serious bodily injury crash in the 200 block of South Creasy Lane. Investigators with the Lafayette Police Traffic Unit were called to the scene. Investigators determined that a Honda minivan exited the Sams Club parking lot and attempted to make a left turn to go south on Creasy Ln. The van pulled into the path of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling south in the left-hand lane of Creasy Lane.

The driver of the minivan, Arturo Antonio (68) was not injured.  A passenger in the minivan, Sharon Antonio (66) was transported to IU Health Arnett Hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of the motorcycle, Kristoffer Shillings (42) sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.  He was transported to IU Health Arnett Hospital and later airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  The passenger on the motorcycle, Melissa Shillings (40) was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where she died of her injuries.

Toxicology tests are pending but it is not believed that alcohol or drugs were a factor.
