Lafayette Police responded to the 1600 block of Center Street for a reported shooting. Officers arrived and located a man, inside an apartment, who had a gunshot injury. Emergency medical personnel transported the man to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officers and detectives continue to investigate the case as a possible homicide.

More information will be released as the investigation continues. The name of the deceased man will be released upon the authority of the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s office.
