[ARCHIVED] Shots Fired

At 2:03pm, the Lafayette Police Department responded to the area of N 10th St and North St in reference to a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers located one individual that had been struck by the gunfire in the leg. Officers and detectives interviewed several witnesses in the area and determined that an altercation of some kind preceded the gunfire. One victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for treatment. There was also a vehicle that was damaged during the incident. It should be noted that this is not considered to be a random event.
