At 3:49am on August 4th, the Lafayette Police Department received a call regarding shots fired in the 2200-block of Perrine St. Officers arrived on scene and located two subjects in the front yard of a residence. Both persons had sustained gunshot wounds. Medics were called to the scene and transported the two subjects to local hospitals. Both subjects were later pronounced dead. Officers also located shell casings and a firearm believed to be involved in the incident. The identities of the deceased are not being released at this time pending family notification.

Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses and processing the scene for evidence. At this time, the suspect(s) has not been identified. If anybody has any information regarding this incident, please contact local law enforcement or the We-Tip Hotline.
